Personal Profile
Nandika Hamsalatha, the co-founder of The Ikshā Foundation, is driven by a deep sense of purpose to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. Growing up, Nandika noticed the glaring gap in access to basic educational resources for many children across India. This realization sparked a desire to create change, and from that vision, the Ikshā Foundation was born. She founded Ikshā along with Kalvin and Jigisha with a simple yet powerful idea of turning paper waste into educational kits for underprivileged students. For her, it wasn’t just about recycling; it was about providing hope and opportunities for children to access learning, which she believes is the key to breaking cycles of poverty.
Apart from her work at Ikshā, Nandika is a passionate karate athlete, a discipline that has instilled in her resilience, focus, and determination. These qualities are not just evident in her martial arts but in the way she leads her team and navigates challenges. Known for her compassion, perseverance, and ability to inspire those around her, Nandika is a firm believer in the power of collective effort. Ikshā is more than a project; it’s a mission to create a better future for all.
